Short Story - The Lake

She was running behind me, I heard her footsteps, and then, SPLASH! She had pushed me into the freezing lake. She burst out laughing. Then, I got scared I was being pulled into the water... "ALICE! I'M BEING PULLED UNDER!" I was screaming.There was something around my leg pulling me down. Alice grabbed my hand and tried to pull me up. The person, or thing pulling me in was to strong. And then suddenly, Alice fell in. I went under the deep cold water. Everything was dark, I couldn't breathe. Then I was released from the 'things' grip. I swam up. How deep was this lake? Then I finally got to the top, and Alice was gone. The thing had gotten her. "ALICE! ALICE WHERE ARE YOU!" I cried. "ALICE!!!" I got out of the water. My dearest Alice was gone.

I decided I would get a search party out to look for Alice, to see if they could find her body. I could still imagine her sweet face trying to help me from the water. I broke into tears. "ALICE! WHERE ARE YOU!" I cried and cried, I couldn't stand the thought of her body down in the depths of the lake. I walked over to the spot where she was helping me out of the water. And right before my eyes, I saw a boat go down, the thing had gotten part of the search party...

I ran into the water. "NO! NO! NO! NO! THIS CAN'T HAPPEN! I'M DREAMING" I screamed. Then, I saw, a girl, that looked like Alice, no, not looked like, WAS Alice come out of the water. I ran over to her crying "ALICE!" I wrapped my arms around her cold, wet body. "Let's go swimming" her quiet voice said. "But... Alice" I said. "Come on" she smiled at me. I walked into the water holding her hand. Then she, Alice, pulled me under. The last thing I saw was the evil, smiling face pulling me under the dark lake. Then everything went black.
