- *Report the bully! This is an easy and safe way to notify woozband if you see/experience bullying going on. You can click the bullies profile and select the report icon at the bottom of their profile. It looks like a circle with an exclamation point inside of it. Often time’s kids either laugh along or join in because they themselves don’t want to get bullied. Reporting a woozen is private and safe so you won’t have to worry about anyone finding out.
- Stand up for what’s right! Believe it or not, confidence can be scary. If you show you have confidence it may inspire those around you to act the same way. It can show them that being who they are is the most beautiful thing they could ever be. If you stand up for yourself you are most likely to gain respect from those around you, and sometimes even the bully. Often bullies feed off of fear. If you show them that you are strong and confident it might scare them off. Now, I don’t mean be a bully right back at them because two wrongs don’t make a right. I just mean that if you KINDLY stand up to the bully, he/she will realize that you aren’t giving in and they will most likely stop. Remember, fighting back won’t solve the issue. Most of the time, it will just cause an even bigger fight and sometimes lead to suspension. You could end up getting in trouble along with the bully, and you don’t want that.
- Tell a trusted friend! If you don’t report threats and assaults, a bully will often become more and more aggressive. In many cases adults can find ways to help with the problem without letting the bully know it was you who reported them. Talk to a parent, counselor, coach, religious leader, or trusted friend. Expressing what you’re going through can make a huge difference to the way you feel, even if it doesn’t change the situation.
- Don't blame yourself! It’s crucial to know that it’s not your fault. No one deserves to be treated badly. You are one of a kind, unique in your own way. There’s nothing more special than being yourself and letting your personality shine through. Be proud of who you are. Despite what a bully says, there are many wonderful things about you. Keep those in mind instead of the messages you hear from bullies.
