(Story) Face your fears

So i've been working on a story. It's a short one and it's suppose to teach you to face your fears no matter what. The picture will be at the end.

Once upon a time, There was a girl named Anna and she moved to a new home somewhere in New Mexico. She bumped in to someone and they told her a legend that if you go into the dark the darker it gets and a hand will grab you! She felt a shiver in her bone and looked at the darkness. About 2 weeks later she went out of the house and started walking into the dark. She was full of fear but she wanted to know if the legend is true. All she saw was blackness and then a shadow of a hand.She turned behind and the hand was almost to her! She screamed and ran for it!
She got back safely and was glad she faced her fear.

So it wasn't that good to me but you can give me your opinion.
