A Different Side Of Me

Hey guys, I wanted to discuss bullying, a serious issue I feel isnt aknoledged as much as it should be. What is bullying? Bullying is when one or more people are hurting you. Physically or verbally. Bullying can happen to ANYONE. Being famous wont even stop mean people. Take taylor swifts song mean for example. This lyric "With your words like swords and knives that you use against me"  Words DO hurt. I have been bullied. I am puertorican and I tend to have more hair then the average female of my age on my arms. I was called a monkey and gross and picked on and my hair was pulled on. I thought that telling an adult would make it worse. One of the girls in my class I noticed one summer also had hair on her arms like me. When I came back to school, it could be 100 degrees. She would always wear long sleeves just so she wouldnt get picked on. I tried that but I just got bullied more, "Monkeys dont wear long sleeves!" they'd shout. I finally decided to tell an adult. I went to my guidance councelor to talk about the problem i was having. He talked to all the kids that had picked on me. And something actually happened. They even became my friends. Now we sit around and hang out and I still ask them, why were you so mean to me? They'd say it just made them feel like they were better. Then i'd ask why are you nice to me now, cause your afraid i'll tell on you again? And I really liked one of my friends answers,It was something close to this, "When you did tell on everyone, I admired you for standing up and not just letting someone push you around and feel insecure." When i heard that i felt like i was someone who mattered. I had inspired someone without noticing. If you see someone being bullied DONT just stand there!!! Many people are too afraid to say anything! Be there hero!! Put an end!!! And dont bully, cause it isnt a joke, that person can get pushed too much and will commit suicide. Do you want to be the cause of someones death? Doesnt sound so nice does it? Put an end to bullying. Life is a journey, take the right path.
